New Haven (H)

New Haven (H) :

Brandywine earns a shut-out win over a tough New Haven team.

Brandywine welcomed New Haven to Howellmoore Road Saturday for the clubs second match of the season. New Haven, escaping the cold weather of the north, would be a strong test for BRFC.
Dave Wilson scored the first try of the match, as the Brandywine back line was able to move the ball wide to the awaiting winger. Captain Owen Gardner was able to score after five phases of play, giving Brandywine a comfortable lead. Fellow pack member Steve McCusker finished the first half scoring with a try of his own, followed by a successful conversion by Dave Bardwell giving BRFC a 17-0 advantage going into the half.
Brandywine would look to stomp away any glimmer of hope New Haven had of a come back at the opening of the second half. Being in position to collect an offloaded ball allowed Dave Bardwell to score, extending Brandywine’s lead. Dan Karabin added to the onslaught with his first try of the season, followed by two scores from John Convery, one of which was an outstanding set up weak side by Dair DiRemijo, that sealed a 37-0 win for Brandywine.
