The match opened as a defensive battle; neither team willing to give an inch as the war of attrition raged on. The scoring famine would cease for Brandywine when Dan Karabin converted penalty points giving BRFC a slim 3-0 lead. Dan would add another kick giving the Brandywine ruggers a 6-0 cushion. Looking for a spark of life, Lancaster attempted a long penalty kick. Even with the wind to guide the ball, it was short, in what would seem a prelude to a long day for the Roses.
With a 6-0 lead at half, Brandywine took heed of Coach George Betzler's words from Thursday training. Good enough was not going to finish the Roses, only the best of Brandywine would send the Lancaster team home with their only loss of the season. With a determined vigor, Brandywine took a line out inside the twenty-two meter line and broke down the Roses picket fence. With a colossal drive, the Brandywine pack pushed Lancaster back on their heels, allowing Owen Gardner to score the first try of the game, opening the lead to 11-0 in favor of the home team.
Dave Wilson would add another try to his resume and Dan Karabin would convert on his third penalty kick of the day giving Brandywine a 19-0 victory.
With the victory, Brandywine finished the season 6-0 for their second undefeated fall season in as many years.
