Brandywine defeats the Schuylkill River Exiles 48-12
The first half of Saturday’s match against Division 1 Schuylkill River didn’t go exactly the way Brandywine had drawn up. Penalties, intercepted passes, and poor tackling saw BRFC behind Schuylkill River 12-8 going into the half.
Shaking of the lethargic first half, Brandywine went on the offensive. Ripping the second half kickoff out of the hands of an Exile player, Ryan Sweet sprinted into Schuylkill River territory setting up the eventual go ahead score. Jon Grace and Andrew Kneisly paced Brandywine with two tries each as the floodgates opened for the Brandywine offense. Ben Hopson was good on 5 conversions helping BRFC post 40 points in the second half.
The win was the last tune-up for Brandywine as a tough Washington Irish club travels to Howellmoore Road on April 24th for their MARFU quarterfinal match
