Brandywine Begins Bid for National Championship :
BOULDER, Colo. -- The full field of teams for the USA Rugby Division II Men’s Club Playoffs is set to take place today at the Zilker Metropolitan Park in Austin, Texas.
Following the last round of territorial qualifiers this last weekend, USA Rugby has finalized the match-ups for the highly anticipated Men’s Club Playoffs, hosted by the Austin Rugby Club, Austin Huns Rugby Club and the City of Austin.
The Division II competition will feature top-seeded Brandywine RFC in their first-ever trip to the DII playoffs.
Detroit will meet the South Shore, while New Orleans faces Tulsa at 9 a.m. At 10:45, Riverside takes on Hartford and Charleston matches up against Wisconsin. The 10th-seeded Albuquerque Aardvarks meet Jacksonville at midday, while Norfolk will play last year’s finalist, Red Mountain. The top-seeded DII Team, Brandywine, make their Division II playoff debut against the Clinton Muddy River Club in the afternoon match, as Sacramento face the North County Gurkahs to round out Saturday’s DII action.
After defeating Clinton Muddy River Club this afternoon, Brandywine will face the winner of the Sacramento v. North County Gurkahs match.
